Swim Class

Elise and Lilah graduated from swim class on Thursday. I couldn't have been more proud of Elise. Before class, she did not like any part of her face to get wet. Now, she can dunk her whole head under, jump off the side with a little assistance, and practice her strokes.

Lilah enjoyed her class, but more so on the days Wes got in with her. He is the fun parent, no doubt about that. Lilah learned to go under water (very briefly) and blow bubbles.

Not Quite a Staycation

We don't have any true vacations on the calendar for the summer, so we have tried to schedule a few long weekend getaways. The first getaway was to Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN, and French Lick, IN.

Holiday World was great - I forgot how much I enjoy riding rides. There were plenty of rides Elise was tall enough to ride, and she did great. Her favorite was the kiddy coaster. She was afraid of the water slides, but I'm confident if we had gone after swim lessons, she would have been fine. She went from not wanting her face wet to completing submerging her head. No pictures from Holiday World, though. I didn't want to risk something happening to the camera.

We went on to French Lick for a day and a half, where we explored the hotels, rode bikes, and Elise got to ride a pony. There isn't much in French Lick, and the food isn't great, but we found plenty to do and enjoyed ourselves.

Remind you of a certain princess?

Pony ride - after the thrills of Holiday World, Elise wanted to know if the pony could go faster.

Happy Fathers Day!
